Calendar Creator Plus Tricks

Create many different kinds of calendars using Calendar Creator Plus.

Calendar Creator Plus is a version of Broderbund’s Calendar Creator software. It has lots of features and templates and can create both printable calendars and electronic calendars to use on your computer. You can import your own photos and add them to your creations. There are some useful tricks you can use to be even more productive in Calendar Creator Plus.

Add a Mini Calendar

Add mini calendars to the calendar day cells that are blank, at the beginning or end of a month. Right-click in the square where you want to add the mini calendar. Select “Properties” from the menu that pops up and click on the “Miscellaneous” tab. Click to select the “Show Small Calendars” option and click on the “OK” button.

Fit More Text in Day Cell

If you have several events in one day in the Weekly Planner, there’s a trick to making the font smaller so they all fit. Right-click in a blank area of the day cell and click on the “Miscellaneous” tab of the window that opens. Click to put a check mark next to “Fit Event Cell Size to Description” and click on the “OK” button to close the window. If the text still doesn’t fit, select “Preferences” from the “File” menu and click on the “Overflow” tab. Put a check mark in the box next to “Reduce the font size till” and set the point size to 6.

Print Wizard Tricks

Select “Print Wizard” from the “File” menu. Click twice on the “Next” button to get to the third page of the Print Wizard and access three print modes. Choose “Regular” to print one calendar on a single sheet of paper, a large poster calendar or to group several calendars on one sheet of paper. Choose “Instabook” to print a booklet calendar with several pages. Choose “Organizer” to select page formats that will fit in organizer binders, such as Franklin Planners.

Add a Special Event

You can add a special date, such as a birthday or anniversary, to your calendar. Double-click on the cell that contains the date and specify your desired options in the “Add Event” dialog box that pops up. Type in a description in the box near the top, and set the font using the controls above the description field, similar to setting the font characteristics in a word processor. Set the background color of the date cell to something different than the rest of the cells if you want it to stand out. You can add a picture using the “Picture” tab, or an alarm with the “Alarm” tab.

Edit an Image

After you add an image to a calendar, you can perform many editing functions on the image. Control-Click on the image. Choose from several tabs that contain image-editing functions: Crop & Orientation, Adjust Color, Brightness & Focus, Fix Flaw, Photo Effects, Area Effects, Artistic Stamps and Brush Effects. Once you select the tab, set the options on the left and view the effect on the photo in the preview window. Click on the “Save and Insert” button when you’re finished editing the photo, or click on the “Help” button to get help with photo editing, or click on “Close,” if you want to abandon your editing changes.
