If you’ve ever played a 3D video game, you’ve experienced the fun of moving around a virtual world, interacting with objects in ways you never thought possible in the days of Pac-Man and Space Invaders. Creating your own virtual world can be just as fun. You can design it any way you’d like and show it off to friends and family. Several software applications exist to help you create your own virtual world on your PC.
1. Download SceneCaster. This software can help you build your own 3D virtual world, complete with people, buildings and other interactive objects. When you’re finished designing your virtual world, you can share it with friends on Facebook or post it on your blog.
2. Install Builder from Akebulan. This application allows you to model a 3D world that you can visit on the Web. Add objects to your virtual environment or, if you have 3D modeling experience, create your own and bring your virtual 3D world to life.
3. Build a virtual world with SketchUp. SketchUp, a software application provided by Google, allows you to create 3D objects that you can use to build a 3D environment. In addition, you can import your Google SketchUp creations into Google Earth, Google’s 3D earth exploration software.
