Fix A Sagging Face

You can fix sagging skin using a combination of acupressure and a yoga pose called “lion’s pose.” Many facial exercises have not been proven to work. But one yoga pose called “lion pose” may have some benefit to sagging facial skin. According to Yoga Journal, an often overlooked benefit to this pose is that it strengthens a muscle at the back of the throat which helps reduce sagging in the chin, mouth and neck. Does this Spark an idea?

1. Wash and dry your face. Choose a massage oil to use for your facial acupressure. Oils such as sesame, argan, coconut or jojoba oil nourish skin and add essential fatty acids as well as antioxidants to skin.

2. Place your middle finger in the middle of your forehead on your eyebrow and your index finger at the end of your eyebrow. Press down and, using a small amount of massage oil, move your fingers in a circular motion around your eyes. Repeat about 30 times.

3. Place your index fingers flat on the middle of the forehead and press down. Move your fingers slowly away from each other and across your forehead in a smooth, firm motion.

4. Place your index finger in the middle of your eyebrow, directly above your pupil if you are staring straight ahead. Hold down firmly for three seconds. Release and press again, holding for up to 30 seconds.

5. Practice the lion’s pose. This yoga pose will relax you and reduce stress, but also will firm up your facial muscles. The muscles around your mouth, neck and chin will benefit from this exercise.

6. Sit on your knees with your feet crossed in back. Place your hands on your knees and splay them out to look like the claws of a lion.

7. Inhale deeply through your nose. Open your mouth wide, hang your tongue out as far as you can. Open your eyes wide and tighten your throat muscles.

8. Let out your breath, saying a loud “Ha” sound as you release your breath. Repeat this breath two or three times.
