Insert And Edit Jpg Pictures In Solidworks

A computer-aided design (CAD) program helps creative professionals bring design plans to the computer screen.

SolidWorks is a 3D CAD program used primarily by engineering and design companies. The SolidWorks website claims that over 1 million individuals currently work on some form of this product. SolidWorks is not a graphics editor and has limited abilities when improving JPEG images. It is possible, however, to insert a graphic into a file and make a few key changes.

1. Open the SolidWorks program on your computer.

2. Locate the file that requires the JPEG. Click “File” on the top of the screen. Use the dialog box on the screen to locate your file on the hard drive. Press the “Open” button after clicking on the desired file.

3. Move to the appropriate place on the page to embed the image and click on it to mark the spot.

4. Navigate to the menu at the top of the screen and click “Insert.” Select “Picture” from the Insert menu.

5. Locate the JPEG on your hard drive. Press the “Open” button on the dialog box once you find the graphic.

6. Move to the “Sketch Picture” Property Manager. This box will pop up once the image loads onto the page.

7. Make any edits needed to the JPEG. Available options include sizing and transparency.

8. Double-click on the image to make refined enhancements, such as captions. This will expand the Sketch Picture Property Manager section.
