Install DirectX 9 Offline
Microsoft’s DirectX platform is the tool for Windows computers to display complex multimedia features such as 3D graphics, animation, rich video and audio. You cannot fully enjoy a video game or an animation element if your computer system lacks DirectX. Windows comes preinstalled with this platform; however, you can still download the installation file from the Web. This allows you to install this file at a time that is convenient for you without having to be connected to the Internet.
1. Go to the free DirectX 9 download website (see Resources.) Click “Download,” and then click “Save” in the pop-up window. Browse to your desktop, and then click “Save” again to begin the download, which shouldn’t take more than a minute.
2. Double-click the saved file once you are offline and ready to install DirectX 9. This will start the installation wizard.
3. Click “Install” in the confirmation pop-up to begin the installation process. This could take anywhere from one to five minutes.
4. Click “Finish” when prompted after DirectX 9 has been installed.
