Several graphics cards are suitable for 3D Max studio.
Autodesk 3D Max studio allows the user to create three-dimensional worlds as well as subjects to move about in them. Like many graphics production programs, the 3D Max studio puts a heavy demand on various aspects of the computer, including the graphics card. Fortunately, several graphics cards can handle whatever 3D Max studio can offer.
NVIDIA Quadro 5000
One of the more advanced graphics cards available, the NVIDIA Quadro 5000 uses their new CUDA parallel computing architecture which draws processing power from both the graphics processor and the CPU to both improve the speed of graphics activity and the number of tasks performed simultaneously. The card itself features 2.5 GB of DDR5 memory with 120 GB per second bandwidth. This enables display support for 3D and 3d Vision Pro along with Shader 5.0, DirectX 11 and other features necessary for Autodesk 3D Max.
ATI FirePro V8800
From AMD’s ATI graphics company, the ATI FirePro V8800 delivers professional quality graphics processing to up to four 30-inch displays. The processor features 2 GB of DDR5 memory, Shader Model 5.0 and DirectX 11 support, ATI Eyefinity Technology and 147.2 GB per second memory bandwidth. Additionally, you can configure this card in a “Crossfire” pattern with an identical card to provide even more graphics horsepower. This graphics card, tested by Autodesk, is fully compatible with all features of the 3D Max studio.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 295
Also by NVIDIA, the GeForce GTX 295 provides full compatibility with 3D Max in a home computer unit. This card features NVIDIA Unified Architecture, CUDA technology, GigaThread Technology, which enhances both shading and multitasking graphics applications, and an NVIDIA Lumenex Engine that processes graphics at ultra-fast frame rates. Specifications for this graphics card include 1.79 GB DDR memory, 3D Vision and HD compatibility and support for Microsoft DirectX 10 graphics accelerator.
ATI Radeon HD5870
ATI also makes home graphics units with surprisingly professional quality features. The Radeon HD5870 supports DirectX 11, Shader version 5.0, floating point double precision processing and other graphics aids that ensure the card can run 3D Max studio without any problem. Also featuring HD picture quality and ATI Eyefinity technology, the graphics card can display high definition picture and graphics on multiple monitors.
